In the humid summers of Bahrain, even buildings sweat. In this environment, cooling systems produce large deposits of water which are fed into wastewater streams. The Bahrain Pavilion at this year’s Venice Architecture Biennale imagines an alternative route for this resource. By framing cooling mechanisms as part of the ecological context of the country, the pavilion constructs an micro-ecosystem where condensation is gathered from an enclosure and gradually drips onto earthen landscapes within the room.
